Faraday Forebay Channelization

Client: Portland General Electric

This project involved dewatering and the excavation of a channel through the Faraday Forebay. The purpose was to allow PGE to turn a wide, shallow reservoir into a narrow, deep reservoir during the summer to minimize the warming of water discharged back into the Clackamas River. The project required 140,000 cy of excavation and the import of 25,000 tons of riprap. All work occured in one season, from June – October.
